More on my cousin

This situation has me so angry. I just found out that he’s gone through 4 jobs in the last year. FOUR! He’s a network administrator or some IT geeky type of job so his skills are in demand. Most of the jobs were also willing to pay for him to go to school and get […]

My cousin got fired from his job

I’m really ticked off about it too. He had an excellent job and he’s just throwing his career away. He missed too much time and they let him go. It’s not like it wasn’t justified on the company’s behalf either. I can’t believe this. This is something that happens to teenagers and people just entering […]

When is payday?

Gosh, I can’t wait until payday. It’s Thursday (payday) but I wish it were today. I’ve overspent like crazy this pay period. I’m only supposed to spend $125 per pay period on food and/or junk food. I think I’ve already spent $175 and I still have 3 more days to go.
I need to adhere to […]

Personal finance shows

I like watching personal finance shows on tv. Most of the people on these shows are self-made so it’s interesting to see their takes on money. I love Suze Orman but I have to say sometimes she annoys me.
There was a couple on her show that was spending between $1500-$4000 per month on “frivolous things”. […]

My bond is here already

I was surprised to see that it only took 4 days to get. I’ve actually had it a couple of days already. I expected it to take closer to two weeks.
This time when I go to enter the bond into my spreadsheet, I’ll make sure to note that it’s a EE not an I!

I have new sports memorabilia to show off

I’m addicted to the new Pepsi game. It’s the one where you can win football related prizes including hats, tshirts, videos and autographed items. I’m not winning the way I hoped I would but I have won a hat and a football.
It’s the official football of the NFL with the symbols and branding. I couldn’t […]

New or used car?

No I haven’t done anything drastic, yet. I’m still looking though. I haven’t decided if I want a new or used car. By used I mean something 2 years old. These cars shouldn’t need a lot of money for maintenance because they’re still new. Just oil changes and annual tune-ups/check-ups for the car. Maybe brakes […]

I went car shopping again

I’m not supposed to be in the market for a car before next year but I went looking today anyway. I’m comparing prices between 2 cars. I haven’t decided if I want to buy a new car or a used car. I can always get a refinance used car loan from the dealer. The dealer […]

I bought another bond

When I added my bonds into my excel spreadsheet, I put 3 EE bonds in as I bonds. It made me look like I had more money than I did. This week I bought another bond. I’m trying to increase my bonds until I have 1 month of my salary in bonds. That’s in addition […]

People and their pets amaze me

They really do. Just when you think you’ve heard it all, something else comes along and knocks your socks off. There is now a savings account for pets! I was totally blown away when I read that.
I was looking around for savings accounts for myself. My bank pays pitiful rates and my money is almost […]

My friend got her airline ticket

I was surprised that she did get it. It’s only a week and a half before she’s leaving and usually the ticket prices go up. She got the ticket for a reasonable price though. And she got the flights that she wanted.
Speaking of which, I need to start pricing my tickets for Christmas and/or Thanksgiving […]
