Tax uh-oh

Oh boy, I made a big ol’ boo-boo. I didn’t file my local taxes for the past 2 years. Durrhhh. I always file my federal and state taxes but I never filed my local taxes. I totally forgot about them. I pulled out my old paperwork and filled out the papers as best as I […]

Spending gift cards

I have several gift cards to spend. Today I’ve been poking around Macy’s looking for something to buy. I’ve been looking at shoes, sheets, a gold chain, and even makeup. I’m leaning more towards the shoes though. I saw 2 pairs that I really like. One pair is patent leather and the other pair has […]

Tightening my belt

It’s time to tighten my belt. My expenses are getting out of control. My income is not likely to increase unless I find a new job in the near future. I won’t be getting that promotion in my department so I’ll have to leave and go somewhere else to get more money. The fourth quarter […]

Online income

I had already decided to not report my online income anymore. Now I think I’ve decided to not make any income at all. It’s getting harder and harder to get motivated to write on my blogs, especially since I have 5 of them. Only 4 are updated at least 3x a week. The last one […]

I’m looking for a new job

I hate my job right now. It’s really getting to me. There are 3 out of 30 people that are a lower job grade. 1 person is new and the other two of us have been here at least 18 months. The other person has been here 7 years.
I wouldn’t even mind as much if […]

College is expensive

Not just for tuition either. There’s all of the extra-curricular activities that you shell out money for. The most expensive thing I did during my undergraduate years was pledge a sorority. I spent a ton of money. Mostly on custom sorority t-shirts. I had several made in my sorority colors. Since I live in Pittsburgh, […]

Finally approved

My tuition reimbursement that is. I signed all of the papers, had my supervisor and manager sign the papers and resubmitted them. I got the approval letter last week. I was sweating it because the class has to be approved 20 days before the class starts and it was getting close to that deadline.
I’m getting […]

Is plastic surgery a good use of assets?

You can have all kinds of surgery performed now-a-days. Things like lasik, augmentations or any of a number of tummy tucks and gastric bypass procedures. You can also go and get lap-band Tampa if you so choose. You could also go to Houston and of course LA, the plastic surgery capital of the world.
But is […]

No more monthly income updates

I’ve read emails that a couple of people have sent me and comments that I have read in forums and on other sites. Basically only personal finance bloggers are obsessed with sharing their monthly online income. Everyone else hates it or thinks it’s tacky and wishes it would stop.
Two of my favorite bloggers share those sentiments. They’re […]

Travelling during Christmas weekend

I’m flying home during Christmas instead of driving. My neighbor is also flying but he’s taking a flights to New York. He lives in New Jersey but he lives closer to NYC than I do. If you’re taking a flight this holiday season you should consider DialAFlight. They offer flights to the US and abroad, […]

It’s time for new contact lenses

I hate going to the eye doctor. I dread it in fact. But it’s time for my eye exam and new contact lenses. Right now I have 60 day extended wear lenses. They’re a little bit more expensive than normal because I have a astigmatism and wear a toric lens. It’s just in one eye though. […]
