My new theme

I really like it. There are a few things that I need to tweak and/or change but they’re minor. One of the tweaks I need to make is in the authors name. It looks like my last name is “Edit”.  But like I said, most of the changes will be minor. I love the layout […]

I will be updating my blog

I plan on updating my blog within the next few days. It probably won’t happen over the weekend, but I will be finished by early next week. I’m getting a new template and I’ll some of the information from my side bar around.
This will still be my personal finance blog but I’ll also talk about […]

My net worth will really stink this quarter

I had to take money out of my savings to pay for school for the summer. I also had to pay for a larger than expected car repair. I was expecting to pay around $250 but the bill was over $600. I’ll also have to take money to pay for a portion of my fall […]

I love to shop on the internet

Ordering off of the internet can be such a time saver that it’s unbelievable. I’m on the computer so much that I can find great deals on just about everything I need. If for some reason I can’t find a sale, I can usually just join some kind of club. I belong to a music […]

I changed my tax allowances

I changed my with-holdings from 1 to 2. I get a refund every year so changing my with-holdings will just make me get a smaller refund. If I didn’t want to get one at all, I would change the number to 4. However since I have side income and pay taxes on interest and dividends I […]

Would your business benefit from Lean Six Sigma training?

Most businesses aren’t as efficient as they could be. They focus on getting new business and getting as big as possible. If they used the Six Sigma Black Belt Training they could achieve better performance. This would also make companies focus on becoming more profitable which make more cash for your company.
With over 75 years […]

I almost paid more in taxes than I got paid

Taxes and benefits were equal to 30% of my gross pay. My benefits were just about 7% including medical and 401k. The rest went to the million and one taxes that I have to pay. In PA, we pay state, local and school taxes. I can’t wait to move to FL where the taxes are […]

We are not going over budget this week

We will not spend more than $40 at the grocery store this week. We will get lunch food, stuff to drink and food for the house. The last few times we’ve gone shopping, we’ve spent $50-$75. This is entirely too much considering there are only 2 of us. We’re not getting any extras today. No […]

Spam, spam and more spam

I apologize if you’ve left a comment in the past few days. I’ve gotten so much spam that I’m not even reading through the comments. I’m just going in and deleting them. I hope that by marking them all as spam that it will discourage the spammers and eventually block their ip address.

This was my first new pay

Does that title even make sense? Anyway, it was my first paycheck at my new salary rate. I haven’t opened up the check yet though. I’ll do it this weekend when I balance my checkbook. That all stems from an incident at my old job.
I got this pseudo-promotion once. I was expecting a small raise […]

Promoting my blog

I need to get more traffic to my blog. One of the problems that I’m having is that I have 2 blogs with the same name. I was thinking of redirecting my blogger blog to this blog. The only problem is that I have a few sponsors on that blog and I would lose them […]

I’m not adjusting to my new schedule

It’s only a 15 minute difference in reality. I start and leave 15 minutes earlier than usual. But I have to get up 45 minutes earlier in the morning. That is sheer torture! I’m not a morning person in general anyway. Now give me less sleep and I’m even more miserable. I’ve tried going to […]
