I think I need to get serious about saving for a house
In one of my previous posts, I talked about having new neighbors which I’m not thrilled about. That’s really only one factor though. I’m just ready to get started on the path to home ownership. In the past I wasn’t really ready but I feel that now I am.
Starting in the new year, I’ll start saving for my down payment, closing costs etc. Unless something spectacular happens in my life (like a great job with a big salary increase), my goal is to buy my own home in 3 years. That means no more dipping into my savings to buy silly stuff or take spontaneous trips. My house savings will be a totally separate account from my regular savings.
This is something that I’m committed to and I can’t wait to get started.
